90 Years of Price Peterson

Picolot has secured one of 30 sample sets of the 2026 Hacienda La Esmeralda Auction, and we are tasting it together before the official auction on August 18th.

This year's collection is a tribute to Price Peterson's 90th birthday, told as twelve nanolots that trace his life from California to Boquete, from science to coffee, from family to conservation. Ten of those lots live in the sample set we will cup that evening. The other two are auction-exclusive and never leave the farm. Esmeralda is the estate that put Panama Geisha on the map in 2004 and took the triple crown at the 2025 Best of Panama, so expect the jasmine, tropical fruit, and tea-like clarity that makes this farm a legend.

Join Best of Panama International Judge Jiyoon Han for a guided cupping of the collection. We will taste through the chapters, talk about what sets one lot apart from the next, and decide together which one Picolot should chase at auction.

Only 30 of these sample sets exist in the world, and each one costs $3,000. We are holding this private cupping below cost, simply to share the experience.
